Emily Perry, M.A.
Ms. Perry is the Director of Training and Education for The ChildTrauma Academy. Prior to stepping into this role in mid-2009, Ms. Perry served as CTA’s Training Coordinator where she was responsible for administering all aspects of on-site trainings by Dr. Perry and the CTA Fellows. As Director of Education and Training, she has expanded her role to include the planning, coordinating and administration of the ever-growing training and educational efforts of the CTA, including web-based teaching, NMT certification processes and other educational activities. As education is a key mission of the CTA, Ms. Perry works with the Senior Administrative team in planning and implementing various program and project activities.
Before joining the CTA, Ms. Perry worked as an educator in various capacities. Her positions included Staff Member at the University of Colorado’s Children’s Center, a play-based preschool in Boulder, CO; Experiential Educator at Nature’s Classroom Atop Lookout Mountain; Instructor, Student Advisor, and Dorm Parent at The Baylor School in Chattanooga, TN; and Adjunct Instructor of English at Chattanooga State Technical Community College.
Ms. Perry earned her Master’s Degree in English Literature and Language from The University of Vermont and her Bachelor’s Degree in English from The University of the South, where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa.
