Curriculum Components Tailored to Families
Welcome to that National Training & Development Curriculum (NTDC). This curriculum is designed to help foster, kinship and adoptive families prepare for their parenting journey with a child who has experienced trauma, separation and loss. NTDC also offers families ongoing skill development through the Right-Time Training – training when you need it. To learn more about NTDC and its mission click here.
Self-Assessment
The self-assessment is a 58- item self-administered survey designed to help resource parents identify competencies, knowledge, characteristics, values and attitudes/beliefs that may impact the ability to effectively care for a child.
Classroom-Based Training
NTDC classroom-based sessions are designed to be delivered locally. Foster, kinship and adoptive families will work through their local jurisdictions to ensure they are following their required training process. Some classroom-based resources are accessible here to help support families along the way.
Right-Time Training
Right-Time Training is designed to provide resource parents with ongoing skill development and access to information on specific challenges that families may experience while caring for children in their homes.
